I have long wondered if using some of the social media sites actually helps your business. I can see the benefits you can get from sites like HubPages and Squidoo where you are actually posting content that is relatively substantial. A bit like posting articles.
But for the likes of Stumble and Digg all your really doing is adding links, if people like it they support it and if they don’t nothing happens. The latter seems to be the case more often than not because there is a definite reluctance to support a specific business. These types of sites are more for breaking news and sensationalist releases. Pretty time consuming to be involved with as well if you allow it to be.
