So if you haven’t heard our dear friend Dave Harry aka TheGypsy of Huomah.com has broke his arm. With this terrible news his blog posts go on with the help of Steven Bradley aka VanGogh & David Snyder!

Just wanted to give everyone a quick look at Steven Bradley’s guest post about Social Media Marketing called “The Indirect Value of Social Media Marketing” here were some of the questions about Social Media Marketing that have been asked due to a couple posts by TheGypsy:

  1. How to plan a program ( with a real-world example)
  2. How to time manage said program
  3. How to measure and manage costs
  4. How to measure it (KPI)
  5. How to determine ROI (return on investment)

Steven continues the discussion focusing on these questions above. He writes, “Focusing on your ROI efficiency and your rate of benefit is a better approach to me and a better way to understand the value social media delivers. To me it’s more that each social interaction potentially leads to your next opportunity. It’s not always possible though, to know where that next opportunity will appear and which or how many of your interactions led to it.”

This SEO Podcast I talk about some of the following news items:

Google Joins Venture for Mobile WiMAX Next-Gen Wireless Internet Access

Yahoo and McAfee Offer a Safer Way to Search with SearchScan

Yahoo Shares Tumble After Microsoft Pulls Bid

The SEO Tip for this podcast I talked about Loren Baker’s post about Subdomains or Subfolders : Which are Better for SEO?!

“Subdomains or Subfolders? What’s better for a blog/forum/etc: a subdomain (eg. http://jobs.searchenginejournal.com/) or subfolder (eg. http://www.seomoz.org/blog/)?

Subdomains and subfolders both have their advantages, especially when setting up blogs.

For blogs, I prefer a subfolder (http://www.seomoz.org/blog/) because the link juice which is sent to that blog is going to be naturally distributed to that main domain, and other subfolders under the domain.”

So have you ever wanted to know how to design your website for the Search Engines let the SEO Rapper below give you the down low:

Design Coding Video - SEO Rapper

I really thought that video was hilarious and also had some great content as well. I also found this great article from Shari Thurow of Searchengineland.com.
The “Design” Part Of Search Engine Friendly Design

She writes, “What concerns me is how the term “search engine friendly design” has been twisted to have different meanings, mostly centered around URL structure. Granted, part of having a search engine friendly web site is providing access to keyword-focused content…..A site’s URL structure is crucial for search engine access. Additionally, in search engine results pages (SERPs), keywords in the URL are highlighted to increase user confidence in search results. However, a page’s URL structure is not the only part of the interface.”

So I was doing some research on Facebook.com for some clients that I mentor for Social Marketing. Through my research I found the following articles below that helped me understand a little better what Facebook.com is really all about:

Facebook - Wikipedia

Mark Zuckerberg founded Facebook while still a student at Harvard University. Website membership was initially limited to only Harvard students but was expanded to the Ivy League. The website has more than 69 million active users worldwide. According to Alexa, the website’s ranking among all websites increased from 60th to 7th in terms of traffic, from September 2006 to September 2007.

Facebook - The Complete Biography

Facebook is the second largest social network on the web, behind only MySpace in terms of traffic. Primarily focused on high school to college students, Facebook has been gaining market share, and more significantly a supportive user …

Find Cheap Gas on Facebook

Then you should try the cheap gas application on facebook. The app simply takes your Zip Code that you have registered and automatically shows you the locations & prices for the cheapest gas. It breaks these down by regular unleaded and …

Facebook in Reality

To give you a sense of how ridiculous some aspects of Facebook are, idiotsofants.com have produced a video called Facebook in Reality. It is currently running at 460000 views and comes up first when you type Facebook into YouTube. …

Using Facebook for business (part 2): making it sustainable

If we’re not careful, we can end up with blogs that never have posts added, or Facebook pages that are little more than a few fan photos. This is why I spent a lot of time evaluating Facebook before getting our company into it. …

So if you were ever wanting to learn a little bit more about Facebook.com then I hope this quick post and resources helped.

I will not pretend that I am the expert of building links, I will leave that to Eric Ward! Also I don’t want to write another link building blog post, there are plenty of those as well. So what I am doing is giving you a good resource to Link Building tools, services, and articles.

So all you SEOs out there do you ever feel like this dog when it comes to link builing? We all know how powerful quality links back to our site are when it comes to Search Engine Optimization. So why can’t we have a cool tool like this dog.

Here are some quality link builiding tools & services that can can help with your link builiding campaigns:

Here is a great list of articles that I read in the past that will help with Fetching For Link Love:

For all of you that don’t read Tadeusz Szewczyk’s Seo2.0.onreact.com blog you need to start. He mostly blogs about how “SEO 2.0 is not just about Search Engine Optimization for Web 2.0, it’s the redefinition of SEO.” So he recently wrote a blog post that I clipped below. If you are interested in learning a bit more about Semantic SEO then read his full post - Semantic SEO: Your Website is a Goldmine with On-Site SEO 2.0. Enjoy!

Semantic SEO: Your Website is a Goldmine with On-Site SEO 2.0

You think on-page SEO is dead? It hasn’t even begun! To be clear, your website is a goldmine and you haven’t even started to dig for the gold.

In my SEO 2.0 blog I have covered blogging, social media and the likes to the point of excess. At the same time I have dismissed most of on-page SEO as obsolete or as built in basics of even the simplest CMS software.

Do you think on-page SEO is just about h1 tags, meta descriptions or enhancing website copy with keywords? Now think again.
Consider using the term on-site SEO referring to the whole site not just each page for itself. Now add the adjective “semantic“.

Google matches phrases without knowing what they mean. Semantic search is based on understanding what the search query is about. What if you could use software to determine the meaning of your own content and categorize it in topical clusters?
